Women’s Wellness Program

Our Wellness Assessment is customized to fit the needs of active women from reproductive age through their post-menopausal years.

The Women’s Wellness program at False Creek Healthcare in Vancouver is customized to address women’s unique life stage, symptoms, health history, and other potential risk factors. All of our services are designed to help women achieve optimum wellness and lead longer, healthier lives.

A Life-Cycle Approach

Women have many different health needs and concerns than men – from their bones, hearts, and breasts, to their hormonal balance and reproductive systems. A personalized and comprehensive medical assessment can address these unique requirements. The Women’s Wellness program is designed to identify medical concerns and problems early, when disease is most easily prevented and managed.

This customized program addresses women’s unique health concerns at every stage of life.

Reproductive Age

Women in their reproductive years have diverse health and wellness needs.

The Women’s Wellness program offers an array of health services based on personal needs and life goals, including pre-conception counseling, contraceptive counseling, and early pregnancy care. There is also a strong focus on health, including cardiovascular risk assessment and cancer screening. IUD insertion is also available.

Peri-menopause describes a woman’s transition from her reproductive years into menopause. This stage can begin as early as the late 30s and may last for a number of years. During this time, women experience menstrual cycle irregularity and hormone level fluctuation. These natural changes can lead to highly disruptive symptoms, including mood swings, hot flashes, insomnia, depression, weight gain, incontinence, decreased sex drive, and vaginal dryness.

We work with patients to manage these physical and emotional concerns, using a comprehensive approach, and all of the resources and services of a state-of-the-art medical facility.

Once a woman enters her post-menopausal years, she may continue to be affected by peri-menopausal symptoms. During this stage, women also face an increased risk of developing certain diseases, such as osteoporosis, heart disease, and some forms of cancer.

For women in this life stage, we focus not only on symptom management, but also on screening, preventative health, and risk factor modification, in order to help patients achieve optimum health.
